Merced County Regional Occupational Program (ROP) offers 43 different courses in 15 Industry Sectors to high school juniors, seniors, and adults. Classes are offered at 11 comprehensive high schools in Merced County and also at Chowchilla High School with over 3,700 high school students served. ROP classes are also offered to continuation and alternative high schools. Approximately 1,600 students receive on-the-job training in over 500 businesses throughout the county. Adult programs are offered in Accounting, Working Professional, Computerized Office Technology, Customer Service, Marketing Occupations, Office Technologies in Medical Environments, Graphic Arts, Auto Services and Computer Systems.

Graphic Arts Occupations
This course is designed to assist those interested in pursuing a career in the advertising industry. This course offers three areas of specialization over two years which includes Advertising Design, Computer Design, and Graphic Communications. Numerous job skills are taught which include: Macintosh computer and applicable software, creative and critical thinking, graphic design and layout, and typography, etc. Hands-on experience is provided through projects and production assignments. Off-campus training is available to advanced students. Emphasis is placed on leadership skills and active participation in Skills USA is encouraged.
